The national Latino Association of Credit Union Professionals (NLCUP) encourages and supports diversity, equity and inclusion within the credit union industry and is dedicated to: Promoting the credit union model and credit union membership to the Hispanic/Latino community. Serving as a principal advocate for financial services and economic opportunity in the Hispanic/Latino community. Encouraging financial education and asset-building within the Hispanic/Latino community. Providing access to affordable financial products and services for Hispanic/Latino families. Sponsoring and developing professional Hispanic/Latino leadership and representation at all levels within the credit union system. Developing an internal network of credit union institutions to support economic development in Hispanic/Latino communities. Sponsoring, hosting and/or participating in events and activities that promote financial services to the Hispanic/Latino community. Providing educational, networking and scholarship opportunities for professional development within the credit union system.

    The time has come to submit your application for our highly sought-after?mentorship program! We have revamped our application to better fit your needs and find you the perfect match! Before you apply, please review?the requirements. Program Participation Requirements:? 1. Commitment to Time and Attendance: Mentors and mentees are required to commit to regular meetings (at least once a month) in addition to monthly group check-ins.? 2. Goal setting: Both mentors and mentees may need to set specific, measurable goals for the mentorship period. This helps keep the mentorship focused and ensures progress. 3. Engagement in orientation and group check-Ins: Participants are expected to attend an open-house orientation to learn about program expectations and timeline as well as monthly check-ins to ensure ongoing engagement, provide updates on their progress, and receive any necessary support or guidance from program coordinators. 4. Evaluation and Feedback: Participants will be asked to provide feedback through evaluations or surveys to measure the program's impact and improve future sessions. 5. Confidentiality Agreement: To create a safe, trusting environment, participants will need to agree to keep shared information private, especially if sensitive topics related to career challenges and personal growth are discussed.     NLCUP was founded in 2020 by a visionary group of dedicated credit union leaders with a shared dream of fostering financial inclusion. Their mission was to ensure that lending opportunities were accessible to everyone, regardless of whether they held a Social Security number. This past week, one of NLCUP’s long-standing aspirations became a reality with the successful launch of the inaugural ITIN Lending Best Practices Workshop. The event brought together 44 passionate participants representing 31 credit unions from across the nation, equipping them with the knowledge and tools to implement ITIN lending and make a lasting impact in their communities.?
