If you read one thing today, make it this story from Claudia T.. She reminds us all that vulnerability is an important trait that great leaders must possess. She bravely shares how her personal experience with homelessness inspired her passion for nonprofit work and is helping her improve the quality of life for others today. We're proud to have Claudia as part of the Nonprofit Leadership Center community and love seeing all she is accomplishing because of her commitment to leadership development and lifelong learning! A big thanks to our friends at the Children's Board of Hillsborough County for making Claudia's experiences with us possible by funding professional development events for her and many nonprofit leaders across our community! #LeadersAreLearners #Nonprofits #NonprofitLeadership #NonprofitStories #BeTheChange #ItStartsWithUs #MissionAccepted
Stepping Into Vulnerability At the start of this year, I prayed for growth in one specific area: vulnerability. I wanted to share my story more openly, to embrace the parts of myself that I once kept guarded. Little did I know, God had a lesson ready for me sooner than I expected. Recently, I was given the incredible opportunity to be featured in Nonprofit Leadership Center ‘s blog. This morning, that feature went live. The experience stretched me in ways I didn’t anticipate—pushing me past the fear of being judged, of sharing parts of my journey that I’ve always kept close. But in place of fear, I found freedom. In place of doubt, I found growth. Vulnerability isn’t easy, but it’s powerful. And today, I’m celebrating the courage to share my story. If you’ve ever struggled with opening up, I see you. Keep leaning in. There’s strength in your story. Read the full feature here: https://lnkd.in/eQhjKJdU

With everything nonprofit leaders and organizations are facing these days, making time for professional development and investing in learning may seem like something that's easy to go by the wayside. But strengthening our skills and nonprofits has never been more critical. Angelita Montes, grants and contracts manager at Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, shares just how powerful investing in our learning is to be the change that changes everything. Angie was experiencing challenges working with her colleagues and recalls leaving her first class at our training center in tears. "The Nonprofit Leadership Center reminded me of who I am. It also showed me how to do my job better. Being myself and leading authentically removed friction and alleviated such a burden for me in the workplace." Since her first class, Angie has taken eight more at NLC and says attending classes with us has forever changed her leadership mindset.
