With the completion of the 18.9 MW Foul Rift #solar array, CEV continues to be a leader in turning underutilized #brownfield space into #cleanenergy. We would like to acknowledge our partners CEP Renewables and CS Energy for their collaboration and hard work that helped make this project possible. Foul Rift is another example of CEV’s commitment to meeting New Jersey’s #renewableenergy targets and contributing to a more #sustainablefuture.?
CEP Renewables, NJR Clean Energy Ventures and CS Energy recently announced that they have completed the 19 MW dc grid supply Foul Rift solar project in Warren County. The project, located in White Township, was built on a brownfield, a substantially environmentally impaired site, that had been the home to a composting facility for nearly 30 years. Prior to the facility ceasing its operations, the site had an extensive history of violations received from the N.J. Department of Environmental Protection. CEP’s development of this project resulted in the successful remediation of environmental damage at the site while also providing reliable, clean energy, pollinator habitats, and greater tax revenue for the local community.

Thanks to our subsidiary NJR Clean Energy Ventures and CEP Renewables, what was once an environmentally impaired brownfield has been transformed. Introducing the Foul Rift #solar field, generating 18.9 MW of #renewableenergy – enough to power 3,390 homes annually. This project also helps reduce over 17,000 metric tons of carbon emissions each year, advancing New Jersey’s #cleanenergyfuture. Thanks to Congressman Tom Kean Jr. and State Senator Douglas Steinhardt for attending yesterday’s ribbon cutting to mark the completion! #sustainablefuture

Recently, two of our analysts at #CEV attended the Sustainable Investing Career Fair at Columbia University. At the event, our team collaborated with undergraduate and graduate students to talk all things related to sustainable investing (especially in the #renewableenergy space!), career advice and professional development. It was a great experience to connect with so many people excited and passionate about #cleanenergy! Interested in a career at CEV or New Jersey Resources? Check out openings at https://lnkd.in/eRK852r5.

There are many innovations taking place in the #solar market, with one of the most exciting being floating photovoltaics. Also known as #floatingsolar, these are #solararrays, similar to what can be found on a rooftop or solar field, that are affixed to buoyant structures that float atop a water surface. These types of projects are typically located on calmer bodies of water, such as man-made lakes and reservoirs, and the racking systems are anchored in place to minimize drifting as well as any potential impacts from changing water levels. In land-constrained states such as #NewJersey, floating solar is an excellent way to increase renewable energy production without the need to develop additional land. Early studies have also found that floating solar may reduce evaporation and prevent harmful algal blooms from forming, which benefits the #environment and preserves the water supply. CEV is proud to own two floating solar arrays, including the Canoe Brook floating solar array – the largest in North America, which provides clean energy for New Jersey American Water’s water treatment plant. #sustainablefuture #cleanenergyfuture
