关于我们
The mission of the New Jersey-Israel Commission is to foster economic, scientific, educational and cultural ties with the State of Israel, one of New Jersey's most important trading partners. In 1988, under Governor Thomas H. Kean, a Sister State Agreement was signed between the State of Israel and the State of New Jersey. The New Jersey-Israel Commission was established in 1989 to implement the goals of this agreement - to promote the development of trade, culture and educational exchanges; encourage the development of capital investment and joint business ventures; and foster a spirit of cooperation between the citizens of the State of Israel and the State of New Jersey. The New Jersey-Israel Commission was placed under the purview of the Department of State in July, 2007. Prior to this, the Commission came under the New Jersey Commerce, Economic Development & Tourism Commission (which is now the New Jersey Commerce Commission).

#YIZKOR WE REMEMBER: The portrait of Tenafly's Edan Alexander (20 years old) over W. State Street from our offices in Trenton- while the U.S. flag flies at half mast, one year since he was kidnapped by terrorists from Gaza. Edan and 100 others, including 7 American citizens, are still held captive, in unknown locations and conditions. In one year, they have not had any contact with the U.S. government, the Israeli government, or any international organizations. They have been ignored by the United Nations; Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF); International Committee of the Red Cross - ICRC - ICRC; Amnesty International; Human Rights Watch; World Health Organization and others. ?? ?? #BringThemHomeNow #October7 Josh Berliner Karin Elkis Mark Levenson Alicia D'Alessandro Marelyn R. This is the last photo the world has seen of #ArielBibas?? ?? (now 5 years old) and #KfirBibas?? ?? (1 yr), brothers kidnapped more than 320 days ago. PEOPLE KNOW WHERE THESE BOYS ARE and have seen them, including almost certainly volunteers from Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), International Committee of the Red Cross - ICRC, Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International UNRWA, yet nobody in #Gaza will speak up for them. Governor Phil Murphy and Lt. Governor Tahesha Way have called for the immediate, unconditional return of all of the captives kidnapped in to #Gaza, including #Tenafly native #EdanAlexander and 7 other U.S. citizens. Since October 7th, none of the captives have had any contact with their families or governments. https://lnkd.in/eQKK7cw6 cc Mark Levenson Karin Elkis Allison (Zinbarg) Nagelberg MBA, JD Michael Cohen Tsach Saar Permanent Mission of Israel to the United Nations Consulate General of Israel in New York Itay Milner Alicia D'Alessandro Edan Blank Emy Quispe Josh Gottheimer Cory Booker Jason Shames Alana Burman Jewish Federation of Northern New Jersey #??#??#?? Today, on United Nations International Day for Remembrance of and Tribute to Victims of #Terrorism. New Jersey remembers 20yr old student and #WestOrange native Alisa Flatow?? , who was murdered by #PalestinianIslamicJihad in April 1995. The Israeli bus on which Alisa was riding was attacked by a suicide bomber, killing 8 in total. The UN forgets, but NJ remembers. Today, you can see #PIJ flags proudly waved at protests in Chicago, NYC, and encampments on college campuses across the country. NJIC extends our condolences and wishes for recovery and comfort to victims of terror and their families, all over the world and wherever they may be. https://lnkd.in/e63i7zQu cc Mark Levenson Karin Elkis Alicia D'Alessandro Consulate General of Israel in New York Itay Milner Tsach Saar Marelyn R. It was an honor for NJIC to join MK Yoav Ben-Tzur, Minister of Labor of the @State of Israel, on his visits to New Jersey last week.?Minister Ben-Tzur was hosted by NJ Labor Commissioner Robert Asaro-Angelo-Angelo in Newark, where he and his staff observed a training demonstration where #1199j prepares students for careers in nursing and healthcare.?Following the demonstration, and introductions to various labor and healthcare leaders from our area, Minister Ben-Tzur joined Commissioner Asaro-Angelo for a private meeting in which they discussed NJ's?innovative approach to training the workforce for the service and healthcare economies, as well as Israel's?unique social and labor challenges since the October 7th attack.? On August 1st, the Minister and his team returned to Newark for a meeting at New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) and Choose New Jersey, Inc. focusing on the impact and effects of #ArtificialIntelligence on NJ's workforce- and how our methods and lessons may be applied to improve quality of life in Israel.?Presentations from Judith Sheft of #CSIT and David Ramsay of NJEDA illumiunated the way that NJ is preparing and impelementing our workers for the coming #AI revolution.?Minister Ben-Tzur expressed his sensitivity with how implementing AI may marginalize certain workers, and the importance of creating and fostering opportunities for populations at the periphery.?He stressed the outsized role that bringing economic mobility to Israel's Haredi and Arab communities will play in sustaining growth and success, and reflected on how his personal, high-level encounter with the events of October 7th reinforced the mission of developing Israel's workforce.?? cc Andrew H Gross Josh Berliner Tsach Saar Bill Noonan Edan Blank Jason Cassese, MPA Marelyn R. More than 300 days ago, #Tenafly's EDAN ALEXANDER was kidnapped into #Gaza along with 250 other innocent people. He and 7 other U.S. citizens have not been seen or heard from, since. Every day, Amnesty International shamefully ignores their own stated mission by failing to visit the prisoners or effectively lobby for their release. WE NEED EDAN BACK NOW. cc Karin Elkis Mark Levenson Alicia D'Alessandro Corey Wolkenberg Marelyn R.
