Last month, ELC's New Incubation Ventures (NIV) presented the winners of the 2024 BEAUTY&YOU India program. The awards were presented at a finale event in New Delhi, attended by guests including William P. Lauder, Executive Chairman, ELC; Stephane de La Faverie, Executive Group President, ELC; Rohan Vaziralli, General Manager, ELCA Cosmetics; Shana Randhava, Senior Vice President, New Incubation Ventures, ELC; Sumit Bhasin, Senior Vice President, Global Fragrance Innovation, Product Development & R&D, ELC; Falguni Nayar, Founder, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Nykaa; and Shri Sanjiv Singh, Joint Secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade. We did it! ??? Winning the BEAUTY&YOU Awards 2024 in the Imagine category for Not Just Vanilla, powered by New Incubation Ventures and The Estée Lauder Companies Inc. feels surreal. It’s not just an award; it’s a reflection of years of growth, resilience, and pouring my heart into something I genuinely believe in. This journey began with my own insecurities—moments when I didn’t feel "enough" in my own skin. As my body changed in my 30s—with stretch marks, cellulite, and hormonal shifts—I learned that body care isn’t about "fixing" ourselves. It’s about loving our bodies as much as we love our faces and treating self-care as an act of self-love that goes far deeper than skincare. We set out to build something that truly makes a difference—a brand that doesn’t just sell products, but offers something people genuinely need to improve their lives. Not Just Vanilla was created to challenge norms and give women a way to care for themselves in the ways that matter most, even for the parts of our bodies that often get overlooked. When I ended my pitch presentation, I said something that’s been my guiding light: It’s time to reclaim the narrative around our bodies and shift the focus away from the male gaze. We need to celebrate the power of the female gaze—the one that looks in the mirror and sees not just skin, but strength, self-love, and resilience. This recognition from BEAUTY&YOU, with support from Nykaa, isn’t just validation, it’s a reminder of why I started this journey. To everyone who said, "You had the winning energy," "Proud but not surprised," "You always had it in you to win,"— THANK YOU.
