关于我们
Nitsch Engineering provides civil, transportation, and structural engineering; land surveying; resilience and green infrastructure; planning; and GIS services. Since 1989, we have worked on major private development and public infrastructure projects in 21 states and five countries. We have earned the respect and confidence of our clients, as demonstrated by the fact that 97% of our work comes from repeat clients. From our three offices in Massachusetts (Boston, Lawrence, and Worcester), and one in Washington, DC, we are committed to meeting the goal defined in our tagline: building better communities with you! We define ourselves by WHY we do what we do – to positively impact our clients, employees, and communities by conducting ourselves with integrity and focusing on our core values; paying close personal attention to the needs and goals of our clients and employees; modeling professional behaviors and standards; focusing on equity, diversity, inclusion, and belonging; embodying a high level of corporate citizenship; and demonstrating, at all times, a caring attitude. Our corporate culture is based on the idea that happy and engaged employees are the single most important element in having a successful firm. We encourage our staff to do work that challenges and excites them; we support their professional growth through education, mentoring, and professional society involvement; and along the way we have frequent social events for fun and relaxation. For these reasons, and many more, we've been ranked highly on the Boston Globe's Top Places to Work in Massachusetts list every year since 2015, and were ranked the second Best Civil Engineering Firm to Work For in the country by ZweigWhite in 2014.

Exciting news for our community! Boston’s Bussey Street is officially being renamed Flora Way to honor Flora, a Black woman enslaved by William Dudley, the owner of an estate near the Arnold Arboretum in the 18th century. This change reflects Boston’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating the rich history of our neighborhoods. Nitsch is proud to have worked with MVVA on the entrance improvement project for Poplar Gate near Flora Way, which enhances the park’s accessibility and pays tribute to the historical significance of Flora, ensuring her legacy is remembered as we improve our public spaces.

The Downtown Boston Business Improvement District recently announced their new name, the Downtown Boston Alliance. Nitsch has enjoyed working with this organization for years, and have provided permitting support on a number of their public way improvements and events. This includes their upcoming installation of 12 nutcracker statues located around downtown Boston, each with a different animal head picked by local Boston preschoolers. Check out some photos of the development process below, including Nitsch staff with the first nutcracker installation!
