This is a photo from the 2025 New Year's greeting exchange meeting of the Japan Plastics Machinery Association held in Tokyo in January. Everyone looks cheerful, but business remains tough. The total number of orders received last year, announced by the association's secretariat, was 11,082 units, a very tough figure, following the previous year. The good news is that the unit price per molding machine is increasing, indicating that Japanese molding machines are capable of molding with higher added value.
