Recently, the USDA announced the termination of the second round of funding for the Local Food Purchase Assistance (LFPA) and the Local Food for Schools and Child Care (LFSCC) Programs. This means Indiana will no longer receive $14.5 million in LFSCC Funding (and millions more in LFPA funding). Nationwide, that is $1.2 billion that will no longer circulate through our local food economies, and hundreds of thousands of families will no longer receive nutritious, locally sourced foods. This article details how the NWI Food Council and NWI farmers are handling the news: https://ow.ly/SV4450VicvZ
