NiSource team members are passionate about supporting their communities through volunteering, and we celebrate those who go above and beyond. We call them our ‘Super Volunteers.” Engineer Greg Whelan, based in Indiana, is our latest Super Volunteer. He goes above and beyond by dedicating his time to various charitable causes at work and outside of his job. Greg actively volunteers with the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana where he supports Wednesday Warehouse operations and weekend Mobile Market events. He also contributes his time to the Hobart Food Pantry and the Food Pantry of St. Joseph County. Additionally, Greg takes part in the annual Best Buddies Lake County Friendship Walk and has supported Habitat for Humanity ReStore builds. At NiSource, he extends his commitment to service by participating in environmentally focused volunteer initiatives through the NiSource Environmental Action Team (NEAT). Greg says his motivation to volunteer stems from personal values and a desire to make a meaningful impact. “Not everyone is dealt a fair hand, so I enjoy using my fortunes to help others,” he said. “I put my beliefs, thoughts and intentions into action – working alongside others who seek to create a better world for all.” For Greg, volunteering is not only about giving back but also about staying active and engaged. “Being actively involved in helping others keeps me grounded and energized while making a difference in my community,” he said. Reflecting on his experiences, Greg encourages others to take that first step into volunteering. “If something interests you or there’s something you strongly want to assist with, look and ask questions,” Greg said. “Reaching out to a nonprofit or using online resources like local community action groups or United Way can help you get started.” Thank you, Greg, for your commitment and dedication to helping your local community.

We’d like to welcome two new members to the NIPSCO team. Brian McCaul joins as Vice President, Electric Generation, leading the development and execution of NIPSCO’s strategic plan and meeting environmental and efficiency requirements. Vince Ransom joins as Vice President, Power Delivery, responsible for system-wide electric power for approximately 450,000 NIPSCO customers. Both leaders join us from within our parent company, NiSource and have more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry. Their leadership will support our vision to be an innovative and trusted energy partner. Welcome to the NIPSCO team, Brian and Vince.

NIPSCO’s 12th annual, employee-driven Hope for the Holidays campaign helps bring the joy of the holidays to families in need. This year, the NiSource Charitable Foundation, NIPSCO and NIPSCO’s employees supported 21 organizations serving northern Indiana and collected more than 650 toys for seven local Toys for Tots chapters. Hope for the Holidays is our way of helping to make the holiday season brighter in our communities.
