She served as Chief Information Officer for the State of Texas and Executive Director of the Texas Department of Information Resources (DIR), where she oversaw IT strategy, procurement, and security for thousands of public sector entities. Karen has played an integral role in statewide cybersecurity initiatives, crisis relief technology coordination, and major IT modernization efforts, including the launch of?Texas.gov?and critical data center consolidation projects. Her expertise in bridging cutting-edge technology with government needs has continued through her work at KWR Strategies LLC, fostering collaboration between the public and private sectors.
