It was great being back at the The University of Texas at Austin lecturing on estate planning at a Financial Literacy class in the Economics Department. I think the undergraduate students (mostly sophmores and juniors) missed my references to Terri Shiavo and Sonny Bono, but loved the real time polling software I used. The students were engaged and asked great questions - there is definitely hope for the future! Hook ‘em!!! #estateplanning #financialliteracy #teaching

It was a beautiful event - we had a flower bar, a signature mocktail, beautiful art, and fantastic conversation. Our fellows support our mission of giving grants to nonprofits that support women, children, and families in the legal system in Travis County. Last night, the 2023-2024 Austin Diversity Report Card was officially released! This report card was relaunched for the first time since the pandemic by many Austin affinity bar groups. The Diversity Report Card complies data on hiring, retention, and promotion of historically underrepresented groups at major law firms in Austin, Texas. On Saturday, we had an awesome Board Retreat for the Travis County Women Lawyers Association and the TRAVIS COUNTY WOMEN LAWYERS FOUNDATION.?Thanks to our host Lloyd Gosselink Rochelle & Townsend, P.C. – the conference room and view were phenomenal. TCWLA President Gabrielle C. Smith did a killer job running the TCWLA portion of the meeting!?The excitement in the room was palpable as we discussed our upcoming events, starting with 2 fantastic happy hours – a joint event with SABAA on Thursday and one with AUSTIN YOUNG LAWYERS ASSOCIATION on 8/22. This next year is going to be amazing, with new programming to engage women lawyers at all stages of their practices.
