What is ICWA 2050? ?? In the wake of Haaland v. Brackeen, ICWA 2050 is about how we use the next 25 years. It is an idea representing a multidisciplinary commitment to a future where Native children are woven into the fabric of our cultures with care and intention. ICWA 2050 is a commitment to one generation of work in service to the well-being of many generations of Native children. As the 2024 election results are nearly complete, we recognize much is at stake for our communities. While leadership changes bring uncertainty and anxiety, we have prepared for this. We plan to organize, educate, and advocate for the needs and rights of Native children and families and the protection of tribal sovereignty.
