Recently, the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program partnered with Operation Warm to provide winter coats to students in need. The team distributed 500 coats at Riverdahl Elementary in Rockford, Illinois and close to 300 coats at Longwood Elementary School in Glenwood, Illinois. A huge thank you to Operation Warm, Riverdahl Elementary School and Longwood Elementary School for helping us keep our communities warm this winter! Nicor Gas and College of DuPage are expanding their energy efficiency workforce development program to reach income-eligible, minority communities in Northern Illinois. A limited pilot will launch this month and the full program will roll out in 2025, offering full-time, paid training. Participants will receive classroom instruction on weatherization, energy efficiency improvements, building science and healthy housing principles. Additionally, hands-on training will equip students with the skills to address common homeowner issues related to weatherizing a home. Read more here: https://lnkd.in/gpsS8n4U
