While renewable energy use is at an all-time high globally, a modernized grid could enable more. Duke University Ph.D. student Tyler Norris told Marketplace by APM that the biggest challenge in the U.S. is coordinating states, cities, counties and utilities to invest, expand and update the grid at the same time. https://lnkd.in/eeYjkg-g ? Norris, James B. Duke Fellow at the Duke University Nicholas School of the Environment and former vice president of development at Cypress Creek Renewables, spoke last week at a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission workshop about how "flexible interconnection" could more quickly bringing solar energy to the grid while reducing costs. Read his pre-workshop comments, as well as a case study he led for Duke's GRACE Lab, directed by Dalia Pati?o-Echeverri: https://lnkd.in/et6m3HDe ? DUKE STUDENTS: Chat with Norris at an upcoming Nicholas Institute Power Lunch on Friday, September 27 from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Lunch will be provided, but capacity is limited—register to attend and learn more about his energy sector experience: https://lnkd.in/eJCYPcGp ? #Renewables #RenewableEnergy #GreenEnergy #PowerGrid #ElectricGrid
