As I was reflecting on the Society of Actuaries #SOAImpACT conference over the weekend, I was reminded of all the people who made this event such a great success. First and foremost, thank you to the SOA staff for organizing such an excellent event, especially Marjorie Fierro, who was instrumental during the registration process. To the "Actuaries in a Technological World" panelists and organizers Chris Smith, ASA, MAAA, Sherry Chan, FSA, EA, MAAA, Shelley Cox, and Andy Smith. Ritu Jain, FSA, MAAA for organizing the SANA: South Asian Network of Actuaries event. And to my former Pacific Life Institutional Business colleagues, who I was able to catch up with over dinner. We enjoyed listening to the feedback of stakeholders in the Pension Risk Transfer (PRT) business. The insights were consistent across the board, and could be summarized into four points: 1. More efficient PRT pricing to speed up quoting and lower quote production costs. 2. The desire to make investing in PRT transactions simpler than the current deal-by-deal, tailor-made approach. 3. The desire for deferred modeling and asset-liability matching (ALM) modeling capabilities. 4. The desire for simpler integration of various tools in pricing, valuation and other processes. At Nice Technologies, we will continue to listen carefully to feedback, focus on success of our customers, and ultimately, make actuarial modeling an enjoyable experience for all stakeholders.

Today wraps up an amazing experience at the Society of Actuaries #ImpACT Conference! The sessions were packed with valuable insights, especially on AI and its growing role in our field, and I was lucky to connect with so many smart, talented people from across the actuarial community. The chance to discuss shared challenges and solutions with both new acquaintances and friends I hadn't seen in over ten years was truly rewarding. And for anyone who thinks this conference is all serious business, let me tell you—it had its fair share of lighthearted moments too! From a lively panel led by none other than ‘Death’ for the closing presentation on professionalism to some cuddle time with playful puppies, it was a really nice blend of professional and fun. Already excited for next year's ImpACT—and hoping Nice Technologies will have its own booth to connect with even more of you!

I would sincerely like to thank the Society of Actuaries for hosting such a wonderful #SOAImpACT conference. Although I may not be an actuary myself, it was great to learn more about the latest trends in the actuarial profession, the excitement around embracing AI technology, and connecting with former Pacific Life Institutional Business colleagues. The Nice Technologies team enjoyed making new connections with others in the financial services sector and look forward to showing the industry how we are "making actuarial modeling enjoyable!"

The second full day at the Society of Actuaries #SOAImpACT conference started strong with Nice Technologies' fearless CEO, Igor Nikitin, presenting on Actuaries in a Technological World. He shared insights from both his personal experiences and our InsurTech journey, captivating the audience with his thoughtful responses and even making everyone laugh a few times. Afterward, I learned more about all of the DEI groups dedicated to ensuring actuaries from all backgrounds have equal opportunities to succeed. You can definitely expect to see me getting involved with the Sexuality and Gender Alliance of Actuaries (SAGAA) in the future! As for the fun side of the day, I couldn’t resist spending more time with the conference doggos. Today, I met Kelly, who loved to play, and especially loved to lick! The scavenger hunt was another highlight, and the friendly competition continued as Brian, and I tied for first yet again, which called for another celebratory photo. Even more of a surprise, we both entered the Mario Kart competition and ended up randomly paired in the same race, sitting side by side. Let’s just say our scavenger hunting skills definitely outshined our Mario Kart skills. Can’t believe the conference wraps up tomorrow, already looking forward to the next one!

The first full day at the Society of Actuaries #SOAImpACT conference has been fantastic! I gained fresh insights and perspectives from across the actuarial community, and the networking has been incredible. I connected with so many talented actuaries from diverse backgrounds. The highlight of the day was the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) lunch, where I learned about all the impactful work happening and how I can get more involved to make a difference. The day was also packed with fun moments. I even got to take a break to pet a sweet dog named Belle, and we instantly connected. Shortly after, I bumped into my friend Alexandra, who, by coincidence, was wearing the same color as me, twinsies! Later in the day, I had a joyful reunion with my wonderful Swiss Re colleague, Michelle. To top it off, I participated in a scavenger hunt and tied for first! After the day’s competition, my fellow first-place winner, Brian, came up to introduce himself. The competition kicks off again tomorrow, and we’re both ready for some friendly rivalry.

Day one of the Society of Actuaries #SOAImpACT conference provided valuable insights. The sessions on Private Capital and 'Sidecars' and Annuity Product Updates were particularly relevant. I'll be co-presenting tomorrow at the Actuaries in a Technological World session. I hope to see you there.

Nice Technologies had an amazing first day at the Society of Actuaries #SOAImpACT conference. It was wonderful meeting so many incredible people and learning about the diverse companies supporting actuarial work. I especially enjoyed getting to dominate in Mario Kart—smug face and all. We ended the day by taking a ferry to Old Town, Alexandria and exploring the area with new friends. Despite the cold, the sights were beautiful, including the National Harbor and a view of the Washington, D.C. skyline.
