Industry day at Air Capital Flight Line yesterday was a success! Our military program partners had the opportunity to view the B1-B, part of a unique repair program that began in late 2023. NIAR engineers, technicians and applied learning students were on-site to discuss the program’s progress and criticality to the DoD. October 1-3 National Institute for Aviation Research started celebrating the Manufacturing Month with #ATLAS Composites and Innovation Summit (#ACIS). This 3-day event event attracted over 200 enthusiastic manufacturing professionals from nine countries, alongside more than 100 of our own staff members. ACIS featured engaging manufacturing demonstrations, presentations on technologies at advanced readiness levels (iCOMAT, Inteva Products, Syensqo DDF, Fill Automation, Electroimpact VSSL, NIAR IAMIS AFP in-process inspection system), panel sessions with industry experts, and enjoyable networking events, including activities like Topgolf. Keynotes were given by #Aviation Legend Mr. Linden Blue and CEO of Fill - Andreas Fill. GA-ASI recently completed 80,000 hours of full-scale fatigue testing on the MQ-9B remotely piloted aircraft at our Aircraft Structural Test and Evaluation Center in Park City, Kansas. Wichita State University
#MQ9B successfully completed a second lifetime of fatigue testing, totaling 80,000 hours of flight stress on a single aircraft. Testing was conducted from January to September 2024 at Wichita State University’s National Institute for Aviation Research. Learn more: https://ow.ly/rRA950TL0wS
