Brockton's Lincoln School reborn as affordable housing for seniors BROCKTON — The handsome old Lincoln School is set to reopen as affordable housing for seniors. Generations of Brocktonians attended the school at 70 Highland St. The 1896 building has been converted into 37 apartments. Residents must meet certain income requirements and be at least 62 years old. For years the city eyed the school's redevelopment potential. It?put the property on the market in 2011?and?again in 2015. The city?completed the sale in 2022. "Access to outstanding professional and housing resources for Brockton's vibrant senior community is essential," Mayor Robert F. Sullivan said in a statement. "The creation of 37 high-quality, affordable housing units within the beautifully renovated Lincoln School building, situated near our new Public Safety Complex and the recently expanded Senior Center and?War Memorial Building, will offer seniors everything they need to thrive in the 'City of Champions.'" https://lnkd.in/ed5zP6mc
