?? ?In February we kicked off usability tests for the NGI TALER Wallet with senior citizens in Paris, France! ???? These sessions, organized by Association E-Seniors, aimed to assess the usability of the Taler wallet application among a public less familiar with digital payments. Olivier Rappaport and his team offered a presentation of the NGI TALER project, as well as a hands-on demo of the Taler Wallet app, ?testing various wallet functions with real users. ?? Participants shared valuable insights on their interest in instant payments, their understanding of the wallet, and their initial readiness to use it. More test sessions are anticipated in March to help us refine the Taler Wallet and understand public acceptance of this innovative payment system better. ?? Interested? The results of our 2nd Open Call are in, and we’re thrilled to announce funding for two impactful projects that advance #privacypreserving and #freesoftware innovation in digital payments! ?? ??Project 1: GNU Taler Tryton/GNUHealth Integration Tryton, a popular open-source business management system used in webshops and enterprise resource planning, is getting a powerful upgrade. ??This project will develop a Tryton module allowing businesses to integrate privacy-preserving payments with GNU Taler. Additionally, GNU Health—a suite of libre tools for Hospital Management Software, Health Information Systems, and Electronic Health Records—will incorporate Taler payments to enhance medical privacy. This marks a significant step in offering digital alternatives for secure, privacy-respecting transactions in healthcare. ?? This project will explore the technical feasibility of using GNU Taler as a payment method within the Interledger payment network, potentially offering more privacy-preserving payment options for the web.
