The Texas legislature created the North Fort Bend Water Authority (“NFBWA”) in 2005 to help prevent the sinking of the land, also known as subsidence. The NFBWA serves its Groundwater Reduction Plan (“GRP”) Participants by providing water, by implementing conservation to protect our water for future generations, and by educating residents on the value of water. The NFBWA is not able to reply to comments on social media and has therefore disabled comments on posts. Please contact us through our website at www.nfbwa.com.

As we approach Thanksgiving, we’ve been reflecting a lot on the work of our water provider partners. We’re grateful to work with so many passionate water professionals who share our mission of delivering and conserving clean surface water. We’re especially thankful for the Municipal Utility District providers in northern Fort Bend County who participate in our reclaimed water efforts. #teamwork #gratitude #infrastructure #waterislife

“Water is life.” Al White, a Fort Bend County resident and a MUD director, said it best. Without water, we can’t clean, cook, or stay hydrated. It’s a precious resource we must conserve for future generations. That’s especially true in northern Fort Bend County, where conservation is a key piece of our strategy to reduce groundwater use. See what else Al has to say: https://lnkd.in/g_N5MRAJ.

The NFBWA team is made up of people who care deeply about the long-term health of our region. For engineer Lianna Gregorian, it’s a chance to serve her community by helping deliver clean water from a sustainable source. Get more insights from Lianna: https://lnkd.in/gSuCH-d8

The more the ground sinks (or subsides), the more we’ll be prone to flooding. Subsidence occurs when we pump too much groundwater. Learn more about a 2022 research study that found significant rates of sinking ground in Houston suburbs (that’s us!) here: https://lnkd.in/gkWbJCwz
