Honoring NFBPA-Chicago Trailblazers: Brandie Knazze, CPPO In celebration of #BlackHistoryMonth, we proudly recognizes NFBPA-Chicago members who have made a lasting impact in the public sector and beyond. #BrandieKnazze has dedicated her career to transforming communities across Chicago through leadership and service. With over 10 years of service to the City of Chicago, she spent her last years as Commissioner of DFSS, leading efforts to support families, immigrants, and underserved communities. Always in the spotlight, she championed equity, expanded resources, and ensured Chicago remained a place of opportunity for all. Honoring NFBPA-Chicago Trailblazers In celebration of Black History Month, NFBPA-Chicago is proud to highlight the contributions of our trailblazers who have made significant impacts in the public sector and beyond. We begin by honoring #HaroldWashington, the first African American to serve as Mayor of Chicago and the founder of NFBPA-Chicago. Elected in 1983, Washington’s tenure was marked by his dedication to civil rights, urban development, and fiscal responsibility. He implemented reforms that increased minority representation in city contracts and appointments, and worked tirelessly to revitalize Chicago’s neighborhoods. His leadership continues to inspire us as we strive for a more inclusive and equitable society. Throughout the month, we will continue to recognize former and current NFBPA-Chicago members whose dedication and achievements continue to inspire and empower us. #BlackHistoryMonth #NFBPA #Trailblazers #HaroldWashington #Leadership #Inspiration
