We have been treating patients with Foot and Ankle conditions for over two decades. Whether you are suffering from chronic heel pain, bunions, tendinitis, diabetic complications, or numerous other conditions, our experienced staff will provide you with the best care. We pride ourselves on customizing treatment plans for each individual patients and their individual needs. Our goal is to eliminate foot pain and get you back to doing what you love, as quickly as possible! Dr. Lindsay Barth founded this practice in 1996, beginning with two doctors and two locations in South County. From there he, along with co-owners Doctors Jacob Lamb and Krista Nelson, have grown this podiatry practice to thirteen locations and ten providers. Their goal has been to transform Next Step Foot and Ankle Centers into a ‘One Stop Shop’ for all foot and ankle conditions paired with the convenience of multiple locations across the metro area. Daily Inspections: Make it a habit to inspect your feet every day for cuts, blisters, red spots, and swelling. Use a mirror to check the bottoms of your feet if necessary. 3. Good Hygiene: Keep your feet clean by washing them daily. Dry them thoroughly, especially between the toes, to prevent fungal infections. 4. Moisturize: Apply a moisturizer daily to prevent dry skin which can crack and become infected. However, avoid moisturizing between the toes to reduce the risk of fungal infections. 5. Proper Footwear: Wear comfortable, well-fitting shoes that protect your feet. Avoid walking barefoot, even indoors, to minimize the risk of injury. 6. Avoid Smoking: Smoking affects blood circulation, increasing the risk of foot problems and other diabetes-related complications. 7.Stay Active: Regular exercise improves blood flow and helps maintain healthy weight, both of which are important for foot health. 8. Manage Blood Sugar Levels: Keeping your blood sugar levels in check is crucial to prevent or delay the onset of diabetic neuropathy, which can cause numbness in your feet. 9. Nail Care: Trim your toenails straight across and file the edges to prevent ingrown toenails and cuts. 10. Seek Professional Help for Foot Problems: If you notice any unusual changes in your feet, such as cuts that won't heal, changes in skin color, or severe pain, contact your healthcare provider immediately.
