Finding it hard to secure local work as an engineer after graduating college, Ramony spent years as a dedicated (and beloved) elementary school teacher. With Elera Renováveis and Nextracker's ‘Women in Solar’ training course, taught at a school in Ramony's hometown of Quem Quem, today she is able to finally exercise her degree at the local PV plant, and help generate wealth and jobs for the surrounding community. In this installment of our Women's History Month series, we’re spotlighting Brazilian restaurant & inn owner, Dona Li, who got her entrepreneurial start by bringing her tasty meals to workers at the local PV plant - including Nextracker’s field services team. Because of her persistence, she was able to open her own restaurant, create jobs, continue feeding local crews — and most recently, she added on a bed & breakfast for twice the income.
