As we wrap up #womenshistorymonth, we have one more ServiceLink exec with #insight to help #women #succeed in the #mortgage and industry. "What can organizations do to encourage more women to enter the mortgage industry?" Here's Natascha DeVries: ?? I believe the best way to encourage more women to enter the mortgage industry is to acknowledge the significance of diversity and encourage a strategy of inclusion. Having different backgrounds, cultures and priorities teaches us to be flexible in our management styles. As a company, providing women with the ability to manage with care and consideration of personal differences and various lifestyles, allows us to surround ourselves with incredible talent. In celebration of #womenshistorymonth, ServiceLink execs shared #perspectives to help more #women #succeed in the #mortgage and #financialservices industry. "What can organizations do to encourage more women to enter the mortgage industry?" Here's Mary Damas: ?? Organizations can start by evaluating their workplace policies. Are they equitable and inclusive? What networking and development programs are available? In an industry that is still largely male dominated, supportive organizations that promote flexibility and prioritize women’s growth and advancement—with a focus on leadership roles—will continue to have a competitive edge. Companies that engage women through meaningful work foster a sense of value and commitment. Those who consistently and formally recognize and reward women for their contributions are shown to have increased productivity, profit and retention over time. In celebration of #womenshistorymonth, ServiceLink execs are sharing #insights to help more #women #succeed in the #mortgage industry. They asked some of their top execs the big questions, like What can organizations do to encourage more women to enter the mortgage industry? Here's Lindsay Loebig: ?? To encourage more women to enter the mortgage industry, organizations need to start thinking about ways to not discourage them. They need to provide them with a seat at the table and opportunities to be heard. Fostering a culture of diversity, equity and inclusion and better representation will ensure that women’s voices are heard and their issues are fairly recognized. Did you know, at ServiceLink more than 40% of #leadership roles are held by #women? In celebration of #womenshistorymonth, they are sharing #insights to help all #women. What key skills are crucial to the success of future female leaders?" Here's Caitlin Green: ?? The opportunity is now: leaders are always in demand. Leaders care about something bigger than themselves, making a difference and changing the status quo. At all career levels and regardless of function, staying in love with what you do and being intentional about how you operate and work within your integrity—paired with an openness to continued learning (and failure)—will set you apart. Know thyself and work from your strengths. Consider how your lived experience contributes to what you bring and create that same space for others. Embrace your strategic edge, connectedness, human-centeredness, strong communication skills and integrity—or whatever your defined values are—as your superpower. It's #womenshistorymonth ?? To celebrate, ServiceLink asked #women leaders "What challenges do women face when trying to advance their careers in the #mortgage industry? What advice would you give to women aspiring to reach a leadership position in the industry?" Here's Melinda Maloney's advice: ?? One challenge women face when trying to advance our careers in the mortgage industry is a lack of confidence, which often is due to a perceived lack of knowledge. The mortgage industry is highly nuanced and complex, and most of my colleagues and peers came to it from other industries. As women in a space that’s historically male, we might be reluctant to show vulnerability by asking questions or feel like we’re not knowledgeable enough to participate in conversations with more experienced individuals. My advice for women aspiring to reach a leadership position is to build a broad network of peers and mentors with whom they feel like they can discuss challenges, test ideas and ask questions. Realize the value of an outsider’s perspective! Knowing the value of their own unique viewpoint and experiences can help empower women to participate in discussions with confidence. #womeninleadership Stephanie Hacke Tracy Venturino Caitlin Green Molly Dowdy Jeri Y.
