FlexFactor high school team from Pioneer High School, Infant Insight will be giving a special presentation to the NextFlex community at Innovation Days! Infant Insight will be speaking on Wednesday March, 26th at 12pm - 12:30pm PT. Infant Insight was formed by four Pioneer High School Sophomores, Natalee Reynolds, Sophia Tayco, Tessa Camama, and Calina Toa-Gonzales, in their AP Seminar class. In this class they became involved in NextFlex's FlexFactor Program where they were assigned to create a product incorporating Flexible Hybrid Technology. From this prompt Infant Insight, a flexible patch that monitors the health of a baby when applied to an arm or torso and relays the information to a mobile device application, was formed. Infant Insight strives to provide a helpful tool for parents and guardians to feel confident in their children's health and to collect further data on the contributors to sudden infant death syndrome, alongside other infant illnesses It is not too late to register! Last week, our Senior Membership Engagement Manager, Kayla Rottman (NextFlex), had the opportunity to visit one of our member companies Fabric8Labs for a facility tour at their site in San Diego, California. It's exciting to see their innovative technology in action and connect with their team! Fabric8Labs's Electrochemical Additive Manufacturing (ECAM) is a room-temperature 3D metal printing technology that produces complex, dense metal parts without post-processing. This #electrochemical approach allows for micron-scale feature resolution, complex internal features, high-purity materials, and rapid scalability to support mass #manufacturing. Fabric8Labs's ECAM is used to produce advanced designs for #thermal management, wireless components, and power electronics. For thermal management ECAM improves thermal performance of CPU/GPU cooling hardware by more than 100%. Within wireless components they produce low loss RF filters and waveguides for high frequency (Ka through Y band) applications that provide higher Gain, HPBW, and VSWR performance. Finally, for power electronics, they produce ceramic-based substrates with pure #copper printed at customized thicknesses for power and signal traces, as well as integrated thermal management structures. A special thank you to the Fabric8Labs team for the hospitality! Anasuya Adibhatla Nichole Romine (Miller) Michael Matthews Ian Winfield Tanner Immonen
