Dr. Larsen Returns to NEXA ~~~ Dr. Tulinda Larsen, a distinguished economist and industry leader, has returned to NEXA as Principal after a successful tenure as President of the Utah Advanced Materials & Manufacturing Initiative (UAMMI), now 47G UAMMI Institute. During her leadership from 2020 to 2024, Dr. Larsen secured more than $30 million in grants to bolster Utah's advanced manufacturing sector, serving as the key spokesperson for UAMMI at industry events and before government agencies. She is a recognized expert on advanced materials for advance air mobility aircraft. With more than four decades of experience in the aerospace and manufacturing industries, Dr. Larsen brings unparalleled expertise to her role at NEXA, where she previously served as Principal from 2008 to 2019. While with NEXA, she applied her economic analysis to multiple AAM studies, including the Ohio statewide study and the forecast for NASA of AAM. Her career began at the US Department of Transportation, where she gained experience in air transportation economics. Her credentials in advanced air mobility include serving as Executive Director, Deseret UAS, a public-private-partnership to bring AAM to Utah for flight testing. As Executive Director, she established a test site with the Goshutes at the Tekoi Test Site. Under her leadership, a hybrid AAM aircraft company located test operations at the Northrup Grumman Promontory test site in Box Elder County. Additionally, she directed a study defining requirements for large (greater than 55 lbs.) uncrewed aircraft test sites and represented Utah at industry events, including exhibiting at AUVSI and CES. Dr. Larsen was recruited by AUVSI to develop the Trusted Operator program and most recently release an educational program for AUVSI for the application of advanced manufacturing to the production of Advance Air Mobility aircraft. She also was recognized by Women and Drones as a leader in introducing women and girls to uncrewed aircraft industry. Her commitment to community and industry advancement is evident through her board positions, which include?the Board of Directors for the 47G UAMMI Institute and the Girl Scouts of Utah, as well as on the Executive Committee of the Columbus Agency, which supports adults with autism in finding employment and housing.
