We're shining a spotlight on some of the women of Nex-Tech this month. Meet Sara Kuhl, NOC (Network Operations Center) Supervisor, she manages Nex-Tech's 24/7 NOC operations, which includes 22 clients and 20 technicians. Sara's educational and expertise background includes: - Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Computer Information Systems from FHSU - Currently working on her MBA at FHSU, with plans to graduate in May! - 25+ years of experience in technical call center environments, including 17+ years at the NOC. If Sara were to send a message to her high school self: "You don’t have to know what you want to do with the rest of your life as soon as you get out of high school – you can always change and do something new at any time!" When asked what advice she has for young women interested in male-dominated fields, she said: "Everyone has imposter syndrome and I think women in male dominated fields experience this at a higher level. Sometimes, people assume you don’t know what you are doing just because you are a woman – show them they are wrong. Speak up and let your opinions be heard, take yourself outside of your comfort zone. One other tip, stop apologizing for everything – it’s a hard habit to break as woman are brought up to apologize even when it’s not our fault. It’s something I’m still working on too!"

This is a reminder always to stay vigilant and cautious. Cybercriminals can use this flaw in email phishing campaigns to trick you into clicking on malicious files. If you're unsure about the authenticity of a file, especially if it's work-related, check with your supervisor to find out your company's process for reporting suspicious emails. ?? Exciting News for WaKeeney! ?? The City of WaKeeney in Trego County, Kansas, has been recognized with a Smart Rural Community Certificate and Smart Rural Sign from Nex-Tech! ?? A recent visit to WaKeeney included discussions with the city council on enhancing the quality of life. Topics covered included the Nex-Tech Revolving Loan Fund (RLF), the Town's Grant from the Kansas Department of Commerce, the socioeconomic benefits of Nex-Tech fiber broadband, grassroots advocacy for the Universal Service Fund (USF), and opportunities to host a Nex-Tech Academy. This recognition will help enlighten the public about the benefits of Nex-Tech's fiber broadband network. The engagement also gave momentum to the developmental work being done by other stakeholders, including the local chamber of commerce and the local travel and tourism board.
