Congratulations to a recent addition to downtown Fitchburg’s restaurant scene – Tacos Don Juan! We joined owner Juan Reinoso Luna for the official ribbon cutting of his Mexican restaurant last week and presented him with a Certificate of Completion from NewVue’s Small Business team. We were thrilled to play a role in helping Juan get his new small business off the ground. Stop by 356 Main St. for a friendly atmosphere, delicious tacos and fresh guacamole!

What a fabulous evening at this year’s National Night Out at Lowe Playground! Thank you to the Fitchburg Police Department for hosting this event, along with the Fitchburg Public Schools, City of Fitchburg and all the businesses and organizations that participated to help bring our community together. Thank you to the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts for its recent grant donation of $10,000 to support the Fitchburg Green Solutions Project. NewVue’s Community Organizing program is excited to partner with the Nashua River Watershed Association on this project to engage residents of Fitchburg and help protect our valuable natural resources.

NewVue Communities will be closed on Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5. We will resume regular business hours on Monday, July 8.

NewVue’s Executive Director Marc Dohan recently joined leaders from across the Federal Reserve System in Chelsea to talk about the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston’s Working Cities Challenge. Marc shared his own experiences working with the program and the transformational impact it’s had on Fitchburg’s North of Main neighborhood since 2014. Congratulations to the most recent Stewards Leadership Development Training Program graduates! NewVue was thrilled to welcome families and community members at the Fitchburg Art Museum Wednesday evening to celebrate the graduates and wish them luck luck as they make their mark on our community. Among those receiving certificates included Childcare Entrepreneur Stewards, Stewards and the Business Plan, Financial Stewards, Community Wellness Peer Stewards, and Art Stewards. Thank you to Mayor Sam Squailia, our keynote speaker, who talked about the transformative impact NewVue’s stewards have had in our neighborhoods, businesses and schools.?
