Ms. Trice is a true champion for students—her dedication, compassion, and unwavering support make a lasting difference in the lives of everyone she serves. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that students feel supported both academically and emotionally. Whether she's offering one-on-one guidance, helping students work through a tough moment, or celebrating their growth, Ms. Trice is always there with care and encouragement. She has an incredible ability to recognize when a student needs help and respond with just the right approach. Celebrating Our Next HERO: Ms. Carla Browning! Ms. Carla Browning, paraprofessional at Rocky Plains Elementary School, is a shining example of dedication, compassion, and student-centered service. Her relationship with students is truly special—she has a remarkable ability to make each child feel loved, supported, and heard. With her warm and approachable demeanor, she creates a safe and nurturing environment where students seek her out for advice, encouragement, and guidance. Ms. Browning works tirelessly to help students achieve academic success across all subjects. Whether she’s reinforcing classroom lessons, offering one-on-one assistance, or leading small group instruction, she consistently helps students reach their fullest potential. She's also an invaluable support to teachers and always steps in wherever needed with professionalism and a positive spirit. Her impact goes far beyond the classroom. As a mentor with the PINK Ladies organization, she supports young ladies in their personal and academic growth, instilling values like self-confidence, community involvement, and volunteerism. She’s also a key part of the After School Program, continuing to uplift and empower students with her dedication and care. Celebrating Our Next HERO: Mr. Kenneth "Mr. Kenny" Griggs! Mr. Kenny, custodian at Newton County STEAM Academy, is the definition of dedication and hard work. His commitment to high-quality service was especially evident during the summer of 2023, when he played a key role in moving the campus from Williams Street to its current location on Eagle Drive. From start to finish, he assisted teachers, administrators, and custodial staff to ensure a smooth and successful transition. Each day, Mr. Kenny serves the students and staff at NCSA with respect, professionalism, and efficiency. He is always quick to respond when help is needed and approaches every task—big or small—with a cheerful attitude and willingness to go the extra mile. His leadership, trustworthiness, and responsibility have earned him the respect of staff across the school and district. He sets an incredible example for both students and colleagues, making him not just a valued team member, but also a role model. Mr. Brown works tirelessly to ensure that Mansfield Elementary is spotless, everything is running smoothly, and that students, teachers, and staff have exactly what they need. But beyond his hard work, he brings kindness, warmth, and a constant smile to everyone he encounters. His care for the school community is unmatched, and he is truly a big part of what makes Mansfield so special.
