?? South Africa is ready for liftoff! At “The Space Economy – SA’s Place in the Final Frontier” event, we saw just how far we've come, and how much further we can go. From real-world applications like satellite imagery for informal settlements to student-built rockets and global collaborations, South Africa’s space economy is no longer a future dream; it’s a present opportunity. Key takeaways: ?? SpaceTech is solving real problems; from urban planning to maritime surveillance and rural education. ?? Space concepts and coding should start early. Today’s learners are tomorrow’s aerospace pioneers. ???? The Overberg Test Range positions SA to become a future launch hub; our own gateway to orbit. ?? We need to quantify the space economy; data drives investment, growth, and legitimacy. ??? Government backing is essential. Policy shifts and incentives could ignite local demand and innovation. ???? Young women in STEM must be championed! The future of space is inclusive, diverse, and collaborative. ?? The space sector is interdisciplinary - opportunities abound for educators, entrepreneurs, engineers, and more. ?? Global collaborations (including ISS projects) are putting SA students on the international stage. ?? The space industry is growing 3x faster than the global economy - let's claim our share! ?? Geopolitical shifts underscore the need for African space capability and independence. ?? Space isn't just science fiction; it’s industry, education, and untapped economic growth. A massive thank-you to our brilliant speakers: Judi Sandrock (MaxIQ.Space) Sibylle Pfeiffer (Wesgro) James Barrington-Brown (NewSpace Systems) Fatima Jakoet (Sakhikamva Foundation) Richard Knaggs (Parklands College & Christopher Robin Pre-Primary) And to everyone who joined the discussion; your curiosity, passion, and questions are shaping South Africa’s future in the final frontier. Let’s keep building ?? #SpaceEconomy #STEMEducation #SpaceTech #InnovationCity

Last week, our engineering team members, Phillip Booysen and Niké Ackerman, took the stage at Qfinsoft’s Aerospace & Defence event to present their workflow for developing a next-generation sun sensor, leveraging various Ansys simulation tools. Their approach enhances precision and efficiency, pushing the boundaries of sensor technology. A big thank you to Qfinsoft (PTY) LTD for the invitation—it was an excellent platform for exchanging knowledge and connecting with industry experts. newspacesystems.com Lambert de Wet, Shane Martin #Innovation #Engineering #Space #Satellites #NewSpace #GoingSpaces

This past weekend, the?NewSpace Systems?soccer team participated in the?Young Bafana Soccer?Cup of Hope Tournament. While the tournament was a fantastic experience for our team, our greatest reward was supporting an initiative dedicated to changing the lives of children from underprivileged communities in South Africa. A special congratulations to one of our team players, Mariano Damas, who was named Player of the Tournament! ??? Beyond the tournament, we were excited to welcome learners from Young Bafana Soccer Academy to our facilities, where they explored the world of space technology and learned about exciting career opportunities in the space industry. We’re proud to support this incredible cause and look forward to continuing our commitment to uplifting and inspiring the next generation! ??
