THE lifestyle magazine of Newport County since 1993!
关于我们
Newport Life Magazine is the only lifestyle magazine dedicated to Newport County. Since 1993, it has showcased all that is unique about the City-by-the-Sea, from its people and places, to its events, history and of course its distinctive lifestyle. It is published seven times a year: Jan/Feb, March/April, May/June, July, August, Sept/Oct, Nov/Dec. Newport Life Magazine strives to educate its readers about Newport County's distinctive history, as well as the remarkable events that occur today. As a former resort town for affluent tycoons of New York, Boston and Philadelphia, Newport has remained a popular tourist haven with its sprawling ocean beaches, boutiques, trendy restaurants and Gilded Age mansions. The neighboring towns of Middletown, Portsmouth, Jamestown, Little Compton and Tiverton also offer a rare perspective into Rhode Island's coastal island communities, and the magazine's editorial reflects that diversity.

Our September/October issue is here! In its pages you’ll find fashion inspiration for a shifting season, all captured on Rose Island, a dreamy little spot with lots of history and renewed energy, which you can read all about in a piece by Chris Reeves, who serves as Island Manager. There’s a story on Flora, the new restaurant at Gardiner House in Newport, where Andrea McHugh shares what she learned from head chef Miguel Somoza. We also visit Small World Farm in Little Compton and profile the Rogue Island Comedy Festival. Last but not least, it wouldn’t be September without some sort of back-to-school story: this issue we dive into the Circle of Scholars program at Salve Regina University, the beloved group open to learners age 50 or older, currently celebrating its 30th season. Lots to read! Copies arriving to mailboxes and newsstands this week ??? ??: Cover photo by Francesca Dolnier, who captured our fashion spread, featuring the Nary family of Portsmouth, who model styles for the whole family ??

Our summer issue is here! You might recognize our cover star: local swimming legend and woman about town Elizabeth Beisel, our latest profile subject. Elizabeth muses on swimming, the summer #Olympics and #Paris2024 games, where she is a commentator for NBC News, and her personal project Block Cancer. We also have a story on the upcoming Slim Aarons exhibition at the Redwood Library in partnership with Newport Curates and Getty Images. Then Andrea McHugh dives into the world of seasonal workers, while Morgan Rizzo explores AgInnovation Farm in Portsmouth. For something savory, Helena Touhey writes about clambakes, the quintessential summer feast. Lots to enjoy, we promise! Magazines are arriving to mailboxes and newsstands this week and next ?

Our May/June issue has arrived, and isn’t she a stunner?! Our cover picture is a dreamy shot of the Clubhouse at Newport Country Club, where the U.S. Senior Opens tees off in late June. Andrea McHugh takes us through the history of the club and golf in Newport, and interviews several Rhode Island-raised pros along the way. We have a story on local Special Olympics athletes—the Sharks—who will soon compete in the Summer Games. Then there is a story on an upcoming exhibition at the Newport Historical Society—“A Name, A Voice, A Life”—which explores Newport’s Black history from the 17th-19th centuries. If you’re wondering what’s new in the local arts scene, you’ll want to read our profile on Curtis Speer, owner of Cusp Gallery, who recently launched the Newport Artists Collective. We also go exploring, visiting museums and tasting new cocktails, and learn how to sweat in style with Kasey at True Training Studio in Bristol. Magazines will start arriving to newsstands this afternoon (list of retail locations in the comments). Be sure to subscribe you so you get future issues delivered straight to your mailbox :-D Cover shot courtesy of the United States Golf Association (USGA)
