????We are thrilled to highlight Kevin Wilson in today’s #VeteranSpotlight! Kevin dedicated five years of service to the United States Army, where he was trained at Fort Knox in Kentucky and later stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. As a member of the 4th Infantry Division, 1st Brigade, Kevin played a critical role in numerous high-stakes missions, especially during his 16-month deployment to Iraq as part of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Throughout his time in Iraq, Kevin was often at the forefront, serving as “first in and last out” during several raids. Join us in celebrating Kevin, and all of our veterans who continue to make a difference! ?????Today, in our #VeteranSpotlight, we are proud to salute Jennifer Lewis! ? Jennifer proudly served in the United States Army,?with her time split between 603rd?Transportation Company at Fort Polk (now Fort Johnson) and an overseas deployment with 1st?Armored Division in Saudi Arabia. Although her initial term was three years, Jennifer answered the call of duty once again when she was recalled from the inactive ready reserve to serve in Desert Shield and Desert Storm, showing her dedication to her country during a time of international crisis. ? Over her three years and four months of service, Jennifer was honored with numerous awards, including the Army Achievement Medal, the Army Commendation Medal with one cluster, and the Good Conduct Medal. She also received the Kuwait Liberation Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Saudi Arabian Medal for the Liberation of Kuwait, and the Southwest Asia Service Medal.? ? Thank you, Jennifer, for your service and dedication to our country - we are honored to recognize you on Veterans Day, and every day. ? ????Today, in our #VeteranSpotlight, we are honored to recognize Jeffrey Finch! Jeff served with honor in the United States Navy as part of Strike Fighter Squadron 25, a distinguished unit known for its combat readiness and operational effectiveness. Stationed at Naval Air Station Lemoore in California, he and his squadron were often deployed, serving extensively in the Pacific and domestically. In 1990, Jeff took part in the Persian Gulf during Operation Desert Shield, contributing to vital operations during a time of international conflict. Over his four years of service, from March 1988 to March 1992, Jeff was recognized with multiple awards, including the Meritorious Unit Citation, the Southwest Asia Service Medal, the Navy Unit Citation, and the Battle Efficiency Ribbon. Jeff also earned additional honors such as the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Medal, and the Sea Service Ribbon, and was recognized as Squadron Service Member of the Month for his commitment, skill, and impact within his unit. Thank you, Jeff, for your years of service - we are extremely proud and grateful of your service to our country! ????In honor of #VeteransDay next week, we are proud to showcase some of the amazing veterans within our organization here at Newpark. Today's #VeteranSpotlight is Christopher Collins! Chris served in the Kentucky Army National Guard before transitioning to active duty in the U.S. Army. During his time in the National Guard, he took part in various State Active Duty (SAD) missions, working alongside aviation and military police units. Later, as an active-duty soldier, he served with the 1st Infantry Division's 2/63 Armor Battalion, a mechanized infantry unit specializing in tank operations. Chris was stationed in Vilseck, Germany, though his service also included multiple deployments to active conflict zones. Over his combined seven years in the military—four with the Army National Guard and three on active duty—he earned an Army Commendation Medal (ARCOM) along with several service campaign awards for his participation in Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF), Operation Enduring Freedom (OEF), and the Global War on Terrorism Service (GWOTS). We salute you, Chris, for your ongoing contributions and to all our veterans for your sacrifice and service. Newpark recently had the opportunity to host two days dedicated to discussing ISO standards for fluids application in the drilling industry as part of the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers meetings. ? Industry experts connected via three working groups dedicated to: - Drilling fluids standards - Cementing - Standardizing solutions to enhance reservoir performance Stakeholders and participants included experts from Eni, Equinor, Aker-BP and more, together with service providers and chemical manufacturing companies – all of whom were tasked with designing the industry standards of tomorrow lead by new technologies in fluids for the oil & gas industry. ? Our intrepid traveling trainer, Tighe Cottle, has spent the last 2 weeks in Bahrain teaching Newpark's "Drilling Fluids Mastery" course to both Newpark and Bapco Upstream employees with a little help from Gary Cole, Alessandro Cascone, Iuch Emanuele, Michael Stearns (MBA), Diogo Wink Tourinho, PMP, Kassie Harris, PMP and more. This course provided a full overview of both technical subjects and fluids business fundamentals.
