The Regional Transit Authority gets people moving around New Orleans. Our transit services bring hard-working commuters to their jobs, students to their schools, and fun-seekers to entertainment, shopping areas, and restaurants. We provide mobility to residents of the city as well as to large numbers of tourists, taking them to and from their hotels to historical neighborhoods and countless attractions. In fact, many visitors (and locals) ride the RTA’s iconic streetcars simply for the fun of it. In this way, the RTA is a destination in itself. Today, the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority has named veteran transportation official Brian Marshall as its Chief Transit Officer. In this role, Marshall will oversee operations of RTA’s fixed-route bus, streetcar, marine, and paratransit services. ? Marshall’s transit experience includes operational leadership with the Chicago Transit Authority before leading the Capital Area Transit System (CATS) in Baton Rouge, where he not only successfully led efforts to increase taxpayer funding but also oversaw dramatic increases in on-time performance for its paratransit services. Marshall also has transit experience in Fresno, Calif.; Ann Arbor, Mich.; and most recently in South Bend, Ind.
