关于我们
The Regional Transit Authority gets people moving around New Orleans. Our transit services bring hard-working commuters to their jobs, students to their schools, and fun-seekers to entertainment, shopping areas, and restaurants. We provide mobility to residents of the city as well as to large numbers of tourists, taking them to and from their hotels to historical neighborhoods and countless attractions. In fact, many visitors (and locals) ride the RTA’s iconic streetcars simply for the fun of it. In this way, the RTA is a destination in itself. Our streetcars and buses are both a symbol of the city and an essential part of it. For career information and to see what positions are available, visit www.governmentjobs.com/careers/norta.

Letter from the CEO of the New Orleans Regional Transit Authority, Lona Edwards Hankins Dear Riders, This has been an extraordinary time for our city, as New Orleans once again displayed How New Orleans Rolls with the Taylor Swift Eras Tour and the excitement it brought. At RTA, we’ve been dedicated to expanding our services to meet the needs of both residents and visitors. We’ve strengthened our transit network, ensuring affordable and accessible options for everyone, especially the tourism workers and culture bearers who keep this city thriving. We’re excited to support our community with free fare initiatives like Roll to the Polls, which offers free rides for the upcoming election to encourage civic participation. Due to existing revenue, we’ve been able to maintain low fares and even implement fare-free days to help New Orleanians reach key destinations, whether it’s work, leisure, or the polls. A permanent funding stream for the Algiers Ferry is a crucial step to transforming our transit, allowing us to make long-lasting improvements that serve both the community and the tourism sector. Making these improvements will help us fulfill our commitment to our riders by addressing our five key priorities: World-Class Ridership Experience Innovation Regional Connections Equity Workforce Development Thank you for being part of our journey. Together, let’s keep New Orleans rolling forward in a way that benefits all. Lona Edwards Hankins

Last week, CEO Lona Edwards Hankins hosted several members of the Mayor’s Office including its Intergovernmental Relations team on a guided tour of our Carrollton Streetcar Barn – home of the century-old Perley A. Thomas streetcar as well as the master craftsmen who make living history happen on our historic St. Charles line. Most of our part components are handcrafted by these employees, starting from the ground up using raw materials. The average tenure of Rail Maintenance personnel is about 15 years, which demonstrates a remarkable level of experience but also presents a challenge to develop the next generation of this vital workforce.? .? .? .? .? .? .? @cityofnola #neworleansstreetcars #workforcedevelopment #stcharles #stcharlesstreetcar #perleyathomas #howneorleansrolls
