Team culture and community are so important to us at New Nexus Group! Today, several of us attended the CASA of Northwest Arkansas Light of Hope luncheon to hear about the vital role CASA plays in the lives of children who experience abuse and neglect. We are reflecting on the power of community and the impact we can make when we give back. Whether it's through volunteering, mentoring, or supporting local initiatives, each act of kindness adds up to something much bigger. Did You Know: ?Nationally, only 59% of teens in foster care graduate high school by age 19. ?Up to 80% of children in foster care have significant mental health challenges, compared to approximately 18-22% of the general population. ?The average time length of a foster care case is 15-18 months. CASA volunteers ensure that children in foster care receive the support they need, from medical to educational resources. Several weeks back, some of our New Nexus Group team participated in the Step Up for Down Syndrome Fall Fundraiser.?The Down Syndrome Connection of Northwest Arkansas (DSCNWA) aims to facilitate inclusion and respect for individuals with Down Syndrome within the Northwest Arkansas community, ensuring they have access to the support and the resources necessary to reach their full potential at all stages of life. The Step Up for Down Syndrome Fundraiser is an annual event during Down Syndrome Awareness Month in October.?The event includes music, entertainment, activities, food, and engaging with community partners for fun and games. Funds raised at the event support DSCNWA programs, events, and resources benefiting individuals with Down Syndrome and their families and caregivers throughout Northwest Arkansas. This year, I'm excited to say that they surpassed their fundraising goal by 33% with the help of the community and all the event sponsors! #DSCNWA #NNG #CommunityMatters #MakeADifference #LocalLove
