The BID spread some Fall cheer with donated "gourd"geous pumpkins to Mason Elementary School, Orchard Garden School, and to the Boys & Girls Club. Hope everyone has a safe and festive Halloween!

We are thrilled to announce we recently purchased our facility at 150 Shirley St., along with the adjacent lot at 136 Shirley St., in Roxbury. As a result, in the years ahead we will have the capacity to make deeper investments in programs and serve more young people and families. The BASE is now a property owner with a vested stake in the future of Roxbury and the Newmarket neighborhood. Our vision is to create long-term, intergenerational impact through sports and education, developing young leaders to succeed and become property owners, themselves, right here in Boston.? ? We are grateful for all those who contributed at this critical juncture for The BASE. Foremost, we would like to thank our lead partner, the Yawkey Foundation, who awarded a $1.5 million Transformational Grant for the purchase, design and renovations of the building. The grant further cements our longstanding relationship and includes the renaming of the facility to the Yawkey Urban Sports Complex: Home of The BASE. ? In addition, we thank Sandy & Paul Edgerley, Barbara & Amos Hostetter, Anne Lovett & Steve Woodsum, Tristin & Martin Mannion, Brooke & Will Muggia, Dana & Rob Smith, Stephanie & Brian Spector, The Boston Foundation, Eastern Bank, and several anonymous supporters. Thanks to the support of these families and institutions, and the leadership of BASE President & CEO Steph Lewis and our Board of Directors, The BASE will be a permanent resource in #Roxbury. We couldn't be more proud, and we look forward to deepening our impact with Boston's amazing young people and families. Feeling energized by today's celebration of the Fairmount Line electrification! This milestone means cleaner air, faster commutes, and more reliable trains for the predominantly Black and Brown communities along the Fairmount Corridor. Conservation Law Foundation has been proud to stand with the community as part of the Fairmount Indigo Transit Coalition for many years. It was great to join Office of Massachusetts Governor Maura Healey, MassDOT Secretary Tibbits-Nutt, MBTA General Manager Eng, City of Boston Mayor Michelle Wu, and other leaders to mark this achievement. SUCCESS! We are so very proud of all the work and faith Rob put into this housing process. His success shows others what's possible! While driven by Rob's never-give-up attitude, this was not a solo effort. Newmarket BID, Rob, and many excellent partners in this housing process connected to not just find housing, but to make a house a home. One such partner, Welcome Home Massachusetts, provided Rob's favorite place settings! Go Celtics!
