New Hope for Families

You never know who you'll see at Hope for the Holidays. Yesterday we had appearances by both Santa Claus and Mayor of Bloomington Kerry Thomson! TODAY (Wednesday, Nov. 20) is your LAST chance to see all of these wonderful and whimsical trees on display in the pavilion at Switchyard Park. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. and live auction begins at 6:00 p.m. Bring the whole family to share in the holiday spirit. Admission is free!

Join us at Hope for the Holidays presented by IU Credit Union!

Josh McClary is the weekend site supervisor for our family shelter. Josh is also a farmer. And he uses his locally-grown produce to create nutritious and delicious meals under the name Considerate Burrito. For every three burritos that he sells, Josh donates one burrito to the families at New Hope. Seen here, Josh (on the right) recently delivered 15 fresh burritos into the happy hands of our operations director Chase Techentin. One of the ways that New Hope prepares children for success later in school and in life is by encouraging reading. Thanks to a generous donation from Sarah Gardner, each child enrolled at New Hope Early Learning Center has five new age-appropriate books of their own to take home and keep. We are so grateful to Sarah (seen here with ELC Director Calie Belcher and ELC Assistant Director Shannon Parker and also with preschool teacher Sarah James with children in our pre-K classroom) for this wonderful and thoughtful gift for the children that we serve.
