Wednesday, June 19th marks 159 years since the events of Juneteenth. Also known as Freedom Day, Juneteenth celebrates the emancipation of the last enslaved Americans in 1865. For over a century, Juneteenth has been both a day of remembrance and celebration. Communities across the United States come together on this day to honor the hard fought journey to freedom for all, celebrate the contributions of Black Americans to our collective culture, and embrace the promise of unity now and in the future. Newfi will be closed on Wednesday, June 19th in honor of the Juneteenth holiday. We’ll reopen on Thursday, June 20th for regular business hours.
