    We’re excited to share another winner from our 2024 CEO Awards program, which uses peer nominations and several rounds of judging to celebrate five employees who drive meaningful impact and consistently demonstrate our values of leadership, passion for winning, integrity, ownership and teamwork while delivering exceptional work. Today, we’re highlighting the winner of our Teamwork award, Kazuo Ashigaki, Logistics Manager, Supply Chain. In his role, Kazuo led a highly complex #OneNewell distribution project in Tokyo, significantly improving service to customers and supporting our growth in Japan. He facilitated a cross-functional team, including sales, marketing, IT, customer service, and supply chain, to integrate complex operations and drive multiple cost reductions that led to margin improvement and improved efficiencies in Japan. While Kazuo’s own work is impressive, in his own words, he’s happiest when his team achieves something together. We are thankful for Kazuo-san’s collaborative spirit and important contributions.   • Newell Brands recently welcomed Andres Ramirez Salazar to our Americas go-to-market organization as our new SVP and General Manager of LATAM. Andrés brings vast experience and commercial acumen from international roles at an impressive resume of global companies. In his role, he will work to leverage the strong foundations we’ve built in the U.S. and Canada to unlock growth opportunities and enhance our operational effectiveness in the LATAM region. Andrés recently toured the region, stopping at our Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Chile and Miami, FL offices and facilities to meet employees from across the area and host his first Town Halls since joining the company. He noted our LATAM employees’ spirit of Teamwork, sense of resiliency and strong business acumen and believes our brands are well-positioned to grow in the region.     ???? Newell Brands has invested $2 billion in US manufacturing since the 2017 Trump tax cuts went into effect. Even still, it relies on China for more than 10% of its sourcing, Mexico for 5%, and a small amount from Canada. Newell Brands CEO Chris Peterson told me on the Yahoo Finance Opening Bid vodcast that the Trump tariff climate is different this time around. "In the first Trump administration, there were tariffs put on China, but he also went through a process where there was an exclusion process and the ability for companies to go and petition to have certain product categories exempted so that the tariffs were applied more selectively as opposed to universally," Peterson recalled. He adds, "In this administration, there's a different focus, I think, on the tariff discussion where the administration is looking at trade imbalances and trying to use tariffs against many different companies in a more universal fashion. And so that has created, at least in the short term, a lot more uncertainty." One way we do this is through the SmartWay? Transport Partnership, which helps measure, benchmark and improve freight transportation efficiency with emission accounting methodologies and tools. We’re proud to share that we again exceeded our goal to use SmartWay-approved carriers for over 90 percent of the total ton-miles traveled in the U.S. and Canada. 99 percent of our total ton-miles traveled were on SmartWay carriers. These efforts help reduce emissions, energy and waste, ultimately benefiting the planet, our customers and consumers.??
