Curating Place. Developing thoughtful properties for vibrant communities in bikeable and walkable areas.
关于我们
We are a local real estate developer, building thoughtful properties as unique as the people who call them home. We develop properties in bikeable and walkable areas that add to the fabric of our communities and specialize in bringing density to downtown spaces. In everything we do, we care. Yes, we care about quality. But first, we care about people and our community. Relationships are the core of our business – relationships with our team, our partners, and always with the people who call our properties home. We build where we live and work each day to make our communities better. We’re your neighbors and are set on bringing a vibrance to the place we all call home. Newell Development is humbled by the fact that we are a small piece of the overall puzzle working together to make Northwest Arkansas one of the best places in the nation to live, work and play!

Artwork at Coler Crossing is officially underway! We are thrilled to collaborate with local artist and muralist, Paige Dirksen, and her team for the Coler Crossing project. The vision for this partnership is to create an immersive experience—both for future residents and the community at large—and a nod to active commuting that beautifully celebrates the blend of nature and urban living. We’ve always believed in the integration of art and development, and Coler Crossing aligns seamlessly with the city’s N. Walton enhancement plans to create a community that prioritizes accessibility, sustainability, and art. Stay tuned for the unveiling of the complete design! Until then, take a stroll or ride down NW 3rd St on your way to Coler Mountain Bike Preserve to see her work in action! Learn more about the artist, Paige Dirksen - www.paigedirksen.com/about

We're honored that our own Jeremy Goucher (Director of Construction Services) had the privilege of joining local chapter Urban Land Institute Northwest Arkansas members in Las Vegas last week with as they connected with industry leaders within the global Urban Land Institute to discuss issues close to our heart from innovative mixed-use developments and affordable housing, to the integration of art into the built environment.
A whirlwind week in Vegas! I had the privilege of joining fellow Urban Land Institute Northwest Arkansas members for the Fall Meeting in Las Vegas last week. It was a fantastic opportunity to connect with industry leaders, explore innovative mixed-use developments, and learn how Urban Land Institute is tackling critical issues like affordable housing and integrating art into the built environment. ULI NWA is one of 12 global cohorts of 'Art in Place' — a program with ULI connecting art and real estate to foster community and drive more inclusive real estate outcomes.?At Newell Development , our mission to #CuratePlace aligns beautifully with ULI's focus on shaping the future of the built environment. Hearing about ULI's research and action to address housing shortages, their work on culture and art in development, and the potential of AI to improve efficiency was truly inspiring. Thank you Urban Land Institute Northwest Arkansas for representing the region!? __ Heads up! Art in Place is hosting a happy hour event next Tuesday, November 12th at MIXD Gallery in Rogers to mingle, enjoy beautiful (local) artwork, and celebrate the kick off of this new AIP NWA program in our community. At Newell Development, our team is focused on how we can bring people to the market of different rental and ownership price points. “When looking at our portfolio, one of the things I’m most passionate about (and proud of) is our range of developments.” – Jake Newell, CEO & Founder If our biggest focus is the community, how do we create density while still maintaining a sense of place where we live, work, and play? Below are some portfolio developments that do just that! SW B Street ?? On this four block we have 120 apartment units right next to single family homes, next to more densely constructed townhomes. It’s located adjacent to the Bentonville Trail giving residents easy access to all of downtown’s amenities. The Howard ?? The biggest success was working with the city, architects, and engineers to rethink the perspective of the building; a mission to orient it ‘toward’ the Razorback Greenway Trail, creating a gateway experience for the residents, restaurant guests, and trail users as they enter Downtown Bentonville. Coler Crossing ?? Our project currently in the works is being developed on totally underutilized land. By positioning it at the N. Walton Corridor, we’re activating that corner thus connecting downtown to Coler Bike Preserve—just 1 mile away—and operating as both commercial and residential. As always, at the heart of every project, the goal is always to support active mobility and a cycling-friendly environment where communities can thrive.

Addressing the challenges of affordable housing is complex, to say the least. This is where organizations like Excellerate Foundation come into play—a nonprofit in Rogers focused on solutions to improve the health, safety, and well-being for Northwest Arkansas residents. Back in May, Excellerate Foundation broke ground on McAuley Place, a groundbreaking affordable housing project in Bentonville. This development will serve approximately 160 families who make between 30% and 60% of the area median income, offering much-needed affordable housing options, along with essential amenities like an early childhood learning center and a nearby health clinic—ensuring more micromobile options!? As fellow developers in NWA, we’re proud to support Excellerate Foundation’s vision and collaboration behind McAuley Place. Initiatives like this are crucial for ensuring our community remains a vibrant and inclusive place to live. “How can we be more thoughtful when it comes to developing in higher density areas?" "What’s really best for the community?” These are some of the impeding questions constantly circulating in my corner of the world as an infill developer in the ever-exploding Northwest Arkansas region.? This past summer, I had the honor of joining my good friend Michael Rusch on his podcast, the underview. Mike was gracious in sharing his platform with me with the mission of speaking to our work at Newell Development and the impact of the current development climate particularly in Bentonville, Arkansas. The unfortunate reality? We are running out of room to develop in Bentonville. I believe more people want communities where they can experience quality living right from their front porch. The places people want to live are all about a great location with access to amenities and jobs. These are often close to the city core. The exciting reality? There's still room for growth within the core! My hope for NWA is that we can figure it out now and find a way to grow in the core before we start sprawling out east and west. I could talk about this for days, so I’ll stop here for now and encourage you to listen to our conversation at https://lnkd.in/emthmQjp Thank you again Mike for facilitating such important topics through the underview and giving me space to speak to topics that matter so much to me personally and professionally. ___ Stay connected and follow along on social media to new podcast episode drops @underviewthe.
