If you have been attending our Executive Forums then you hear me talk about the importance of facts, trends and data.? And while this is important for insights and confirmation bias (we tend to seek out information that confirms our pre-existing views and reject information that contradicts them) it is not enough to get a “yes”.? What I will tell you next may surprise you. You have to make people FEEL something in order to get a yes. It could be fear, desire, excitement, anything at all, but that is the magic pill that get them from “no” to “yes.”? Here are a few examples: 1. Fear - What might the consequences be to your organization, if you don’t take action on this now? 2. Desire - We want to be the first to market using this new product. 3. Excitement - This is going to be a gamechanger and solve our challenge. We work with team (especially sales teams) to help them with tools and skills that may be minor adjustments but that get the results our clients need.
