Meet Jai Walker ??♀??? a young runner with a powerful story. Jai is a part of our programming supporting youth aging out of foster care to persist and thrive in college, and is running the United Airlines NYC Half on Sunday, March 16 for Team NYFC. In her own words, here’s a little about her journey: 1??Running became an outlet, a way to clear my mind and reconnect with myself. It just started as movement, but I eventually noticed the mental healing benefits. 2??I’m running the NYC Half Marathon race as a challenge, a celebration of resilience, and a way to push my limits. Running through the city, seeing the lights, and reminding myself I can keep going – is what motivates me. 3??I’m most excited about the energy of the race. Running through the city with thousands of other people feeling that collective drive and momentum, I can’t wait to experience the atmosphere, hit those runners high, and know I did my best.
