NBC News Daily anchor Morgan Radford emceed and welcomed Power Women from a multitude of industries up on stage to accept their award with some inspiring acceptance speeches. In keeping with the theme of the evening—honoring women that are breaking down barriers and making change possible—host and Power cover Jessica Capshaw unified the audience with a message of “Vote!” The Grey’s Anatomy star was so moved by the fellow honorees on a night that showcased so many incredible and uplifting speeches and performances. Comedian Katie Boyle provided the laughter with a comedic set while electronic cellist Iain Forrest (Eyeglasses) electrified the crowd throughout the evening. Two-time New York Moves cover star David Oyelowo’s show Lawmen: Bass Reeves, is now streaming on Paramount+. The show, directed by Chad Feehan, tells the story of the first Black US Marshals west of the Mississippi. Starring in a role showing an underrepresented side of American history, the Oxford, UK-born Oyelowo gets to bring his classically-trained body of work to the wild, wild West. (This year Oyewolo was even nominated for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Miniseries or Television Film for his role as Reeves.) Be sure to check it out. Former vice chair to Hillary Clinton and Moves Power Woman Huma Abedin and new rumored beau Alex Soros attended a State Dinner at the White House honoring President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto of Kenya. The dinner itself featured over 500 guests, including the Clintons, Obamas, and a slew of celebrities. She wrote that her visit back to the White House was a “trip down memory lane in every way.” Would Abedin consider running for office in the not-so-distant future?
