Honoring Our Veterans As part of Veterans day, we want to recognize New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA) Special Officer Albert Ruffin, Jr., a dedicated public servant and U.S. Army veteran. Albert’s commitment to service has spanned national and city levels, starting with his role as a Communications Operator in the Army and now as a Special Officer in #NYCHA’s Office of Safety and Security. Reflecting on his journey, Albert shared that military service taught him vital skills and a deep respect for sacrifice. “You go in knowing the risk, and you’re still willing to go through with it,” he says. This 11-story building offers 171 deeply affordable apartments tailored to support low- and moderate-income New Yorkers, including 103 units specifically for formerly homeless individuals and families. This achievement comes from the dedicated partnership of the NYC Department of Housing Preservation & Development, New York City Housing Authority (NYCHA)), New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, Bronx Pro Group, LLC, and Services for the UnderServed. ??
