Founded in 1964, New York Blood Center (NYBC) is a nonprofit organization that is one of the largest independent, community-based blood centers in the world. Kimball Research Institute, which — among other milestones — developed the Hepatitis B vaccine and a patented solvent detergent plasma process innovating blood-purification technology worldwide.

September may be Sickle Cell Awareness Month, but our commitment to supporting those with sickle cell disease lasts all year long. Earlier this year, Yadira Navarro, Director of Community and Stakeholder Relations, attended the Sickle Cell Awareness Foundation Corporation International's (SCAFCI) annual Educational Research Symposium at NYC Health + Hospitals/Queens. While there, she highlighted our collaborative efforts with SCAFCI and the essential role of a healthy blood supply in supporting chronically transfused patients.
