Matt shared incredible stories like how he started his first business as a kid mowing lawns for neighbors, the perks of owning a business, and how he manages his time as a business owner and dad. In 1968, New Way Academy opened the door to a new way of learning for a growing population of students who were smart, motivated, curious and fun loving children; but had difficulties learning in a traditional school setting. Nearly 50 years later, New Way has firmly established itself as Arizona’s premier K-12 independent day school catering to children with learning differences such as dyslexia, ADHD and executive functioning difficulties. New Way combines research-based teaching, personalized instruction and small class sizes (7:1 “student-to-teacher” ratio) that turn academic frustration into enlightenment. Each student’s curriculum is planned around educational needs and abilities based on thorough academic, psycho-educational, speech and language and motor skills assessments. Students are taught concepts and subjects in ways they understand, which builds self-esteem and confidence in the classroom. They also have access to on-site speech, writing and occupational therapy conducted by accredited specialists. All your child’s needs are addressed on campus, during the school day.

We had so much fun last Friday at our 15th Annual Fall Kickoff! With over 550 people in attendance and 18 sponsors, it's our biggest event of the year. Thank you to Saguaros Children's Charities for the generous grant for our Culinary Arts program! We were able to purchase new kitchen utensils and supplies as well as fund groceries for the entire school year! Our Culinary Arts program gives our high school students a foundation for technical skills and independence while opening the door to various jobs post graduation.

Our second annual Trivia Night was a HUGE success! With 23 teams in attendance, we filled the gym and raised over $14,000 for New Way and students with learning differences. Congratulations to The Answering Machines for winning the trophy. And thank you to everyone who attended, supported, volunteered, and helped to make this event so much fun. We were so happy to honor you today at our assembly, and so grateful for your belief in our mission. The Arizona Corporate Tax Credit program allows qualifying corporations to receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit against their Arizona income tax. Corporations redirect funds they already pay to the state in order to provide need-based tuition scholarships for students with learning differences. Today we honored Executive Council Charities Executive Council Charities at our spirit assembly. Through their generous $2,500 donation, we were able to purchase junior high social studies curriculum and course materials. While students are on summer break and campus is quiet, New Way Academy administrators are hard at work preparing for the next school year. Toward the end of every summer, the administration team spends a day off campus together, and this year they spent a rewarding afternoon volunteering at Feed My Starving Children. Together they helped pack 177 boxes—enough to feed 104 kids a meal for a year!
