Happy Monday! While we 'sprang forward' by shifting the clocks yesterday, it is also a perfect time to shift our habits and routines for better mental health and sobriety. ?? Making small adjustments—like prioritizing sleep, sticking to a routine, and staying mindful—had a big impact on our overall wellness. As we adjusted to the time change, we took this opportunity to reset our routines, let go of old patterns, and make space for healthier choices. Remember, every step forward was progress—no matter how small.

Our CEO, Justin McLendon LCMHC, LCAS, CCS, and our director of business development, B. Reeves, share their personal experiences with morning routines and the importance of maintaining mental, spiritual and physical well-being during their recovery journey on this episode of the Finding New Waters podcast with Delvin Kenion, program director at Abaya Wellness . ?? For many in recovery, having a sacred morning routine—whether it’s exercising, meditating, or spending time alone with thoughts—becomes a cornerstone of self-care. However, a powerful realization often emerges: rigidity in routines can sometimes hinder growth. While having non-negotiable practices is essential, it’s just as important to be flexible and trust yourself when life doesn’t go as planned. Recovery isn’t about perfection; it’s about making progress, even if things don’t always unfold as expected. ?? This is a great reminder that recovery is a journey of progress, not perfection! ??
