I’ve spent years leading sales at?New Venture Escrow. But the reality is that the role needs someone who can give it 100% of their focus and time. We have officially grown to a real company. That’s why I’m excited to introduce Daniel Zoeb, MBA, our new executive level sales leader. Not from escrow. Not from title. Not from the industry. And that’s exactly the point. Bringing in someone with zero experience in our “world” forces us to look at everything differently. How we structure data. How we think about product. How we grow beyond what’s worked in the past. Dan is here to push the boundaries, organize and scale the team, more specifically question what’s “normal” in escrow. And for me? This is the first time in years I won’t be leading sales. It’s right, but feels different. And that’s exactly how this works. Can’t wait for what’s next!?

As New Venture Escrow goes through a mini rebrand, I can’t help but think back to the old days. No office. No employees. No logo. No name. Just the certainty I was starting a new escrow co. Feet kicked up on my desk (circa 2011), as Courtney Louis walked out of my office, I casually said, “I don’t know what I’m going to call this, but it’s going to be a new venture.” Just like that, I had a name and my first teammate. Next up, a logo - with zero budget. I ran a contest on @LogoTournament. A week later, with the only guidance being I wanted brown in the logo, 500+ designs rolled in. Brown = Wood = House was my thought process. Scientific, I know. A few years later, a title company tried to acquire us. Their exec sat me down and said, “I hate the name. It’s dumb. If we buy you, we’re changing it.” Basically called my kid ugly. Can’t please everybody and I (sorta) politely said no thanks. Call me sentimental, but I love the name and logo. Like our company, it keeps evolving. The rebrand includes some different color logos and some new fonts. Nothing major, just keepin it fresh. This is The New Venture Way.
