Please join us in congratulating the Young Lawyers Section for being recognized by the ABA as Affiliate Stars of the Quarter. Credit for the accolades go to the YLS for the "Big Easy Bootcamp" held at the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in October. The “Big Easy Bootcamp” was a day-long CLE for newly admitted attorneys who got the ultimate crash course in lawyering, complete with networking opportunities that were off the charts. The evening capped off with a reception at Lucy's Retired Surfer Bar. As NOBA knows, there’s nothing like unwinding with new friends after a full day of legal ins and outs.

Short-term rentals have been and will continue to be a hot topic in our city's economy and politics, but between Fifth Circuit decisions, new ordinances, Interim Zoning Districts, and administrative interpretation, it can be a hard topic to follow. If you are sick of dodging questions about AirBnB's from your non-lawyer friends, this is the CLE for you. We will discuss the state of regulation, how we got where we are, and what the future may hold. Wednesday, February 26 at the NOBA Office. Register now at https://bit.ly/3X3JWkk

On Saturday, January 25, volunteers participated in NOBA's day of service at Second Harvest Food Bank. NOBA volunteers packed boxes of food for senior citizens. We packed 1,840 boxes that held 35 pounds of food each (that's 64,400 pounds of food!) Thank you to all our volunteers who made the day such a success!
