As we kick off Women’s History Month, let’s rewind to 1960, the year the FDA approved ‘The Pill,’ revolutionizing reproductive freedom. In 1968, approval of the first IUD followed, empowering women to control their futures even moreso. These milestones and others that followed enabled generations to plan their lives on their own terms.

At New Morning, we empower women in South Carolina by expanding access to birth control across the state.
关于我们
New Morning is a nonprofit organization whose mission over the last two decades has been to advocate for and provide South Carolinians with information about family planning and equitable access to quality contraceptives. New Morning achieves this mission through several key strategies: 1. Improving access to contraceptive methods by providing free or low-cost birth control across the state through a diverse partner network. 2. Train and support health care providers in partner clinics to ensure quality family planning care. 3. Increasing public education and access through the NoDrama campaign (www.NoDrama.org). New Morning is serving people in every corner of South Carolina, giving them the chance to pursue their goals and plan for children – if they want – on their own timeline. New Morning is leading our program, Choose Well, the largest privately funded, state-based contraceptive access initiative in the Southeast.

Turning time back, honoring Women’s History Month ? In 1978, The Pregnancy Discrimination Act made it illegal to discriminate based on pregnancy, childbirth, or related conditions — ensuring women wouldn’t have to choose between their careers and starting a family. Every step forward, big or small, is a little part of history in the making. This Women’s History Month, we celebrate the progress made and pledge to continue expanding South Carolina women’s access to medically accurate reproductive health information and high-quality reproductive health services.

The ability to plan a family is about more than just health—it’s about opportunity. Studies show that access to birth control leads to higher education levels, greater career opportunities, and stronger financial stability for individuals and families. At NewMorning.org, we’re making this possible by offering free or low-cost birth control at over 100 clinics in South Carolina. Because every generation deserves the right to build their future on their own terms.

We’re deeply grateful. On behalf of all 530,000 women we’ve served, thank you for your support yesterday on Giving Tuesday and every day. Since 2017, we’ve improved the lives of more than half a million women with direct access to contraceptive healthcare. Over those seven years, South Carolina’s unwanted births have decreased 58% and our work has prevented up to 114,000 unintended pregnancies, 54,000 unplanned births and 38,000 abortions.* Your gifts help ensure that every woman in our state — regardless of her bank balance or zip code — has equitable access to family planning and contraceptive healthcare. We’re humbled by your support. * Health Benefits and Costs Savings of Publicly Funded Family Planning tool publicly accessible?here: https://lnkd.in/eFqBpj5y

It’s Giving Tuesday, and your gifts protect birth control access for South Carolina’s women. Every woman deserves to control whether or when to start or expand her family, and no one should have to face an unwanted pregnancy. For as little as $100 month/1 year, you can help a low-income, uninsured woman avoid an unwanted pregnancy for 5 to 10 years. Please consider a tax-deductible recurring monthly gift and give a deserving woman a chance. Give Now: www.newmorning.org/support
