The event kicks off at 10:30 AM ET with a welcome session featuring messages from leaders across the DMV geospatial community and Panel Discussions on transformative projects, emerging GeoTech, and the history of geospatial innovation in the DMV. 30+ speakers and panelists from government, private sector, academia, and non-profits. A virtual social to close the day, celebrating the connections and insights gained. ?? This year marks the 25th anniversary of GIS Day celebrations across the globe, and Straughan is getting in on the action! We will be participating in two different (free!) GIS Day events tomorrow: Our Director of GIS & Technology, Julie Spangler, will be attending New Light Technologies’ virtual DMV GIS Day 2024 event! Julie will be speaking on the panel “History of Innovation in the DMV” at 1pm, discussing how the field has evolved in the area with other community leaders.
